REQUEST FOR QUOTES (RFQ)
Community Room Roof Replacement Project
Leroy Township is soliciting quotes from qualified roofing contractors for replacement of the roof on the Township Community Room located at 13028 Leroy Center Rd., Leroy, Ohio.
Contractors are requested to provide separate pricing for the following options:
1. Complete tear-off and replacement with dimensional asphalt shingles
2. Installation of a metal roofing system over the existing roof structure (or as recommended by manufacturer specifications)
The Township reserves the right to accept either option, reject any or all quotes, or negotiate with selected contractors.
Scope of Work
Option 1 – Dimensional Asphalt Shingle Roof
Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, permits (if required), and disposal necessary to:
• Remove and dispose of all existing roofing materials.
• Inspect roof decking and identify any damaged areas.
• Replace damaged roof decking as a separate line-item cost per sheet, if needed.
• Install new underlayment, ice and water shield, drip edge, flashing, ventilation components, and related accessories.
• Install new architectural/dimensional asphalt shingles with an expected life of at least 25 years.
• Remove all debris and leave the site in clean condition.
• Provide manufacturer warranties.
Option 2 – Metal Roof System
Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, permits (if required), and disposal necessary to:
• Install a new metal roofing system in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and applicable building codes.
• Include all required underlayment, trim, flashing, ridge caps, closures, fasteners, ventilation components, and accessories.
• Identify whether installation will be over existing roofing materials or require removal of existing roofing.
• Include any structural recommendations or requirements.
• Remove all debris and leave the site in clean condition.
• Provide manufacturer warranties.
Contractors submitting quotes shall provide:
• Company name, address, and contact information.
• Proof of liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage.
• Description of proposed roofing materials and manufacturers.
• Estimated project schedule and completion time.
• References
Contractors are encouraged to inspect the building prior to submitting a quote.

From 10:00AM to 2:00PM
Where: Leroy Ballfields at Leroy Fire Station

Donuts – Pizza by the slice – Snacks and Cold Drinks at the Concession Stand
This is a fun entrepreneurship opportunity for the kids to sell their clothes, games, toys, sports equipment, and “kid-made” crafts.
Guidelines:
– Event is Rain or Shine. No refunds.
– The set-up fee is $5.00.
– Kids items for sale only – clothes, games, toys, sports equipment, “kid-made” crafts, etc. (no food or beverage sales)
– Both a parent and child (15 and younger) must be present at their sale tent. This is an entrepreneurship opportunity for the kids.
– Bring your own tent, tables, chairs, blankets/tarps to place your merchandise.
– FYI – it can get windy at the park.
– The event is scheduled to start at 10:00AM, check in for set-up starts at 8:30am. Spaces are assigned and will be marked, please be – courteous to the other participants and stay within your own space.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
BLAIR ROAD CLOSURE IN PERRY TOWNSHIP
Lake County Engineer, Alan L. Exley, PE, PS announced today that the Blair Road Retaining Wall Replacement project is complete and will re-open to traffic by the end of business on Friday, June 19th, 2026.
A 450’ long section of wall was replaced along with road reconstruction, and drainage improvements located approximately 0.5 mile south of River Road and just west of Lake Metroparks Blair Landing Park. New curb and gutters at the road edges will manage the drainage runoff along this steep terrain.
An additional chip surface will be placed on Blair Road from River Road to Ford Road in the coming weeks to seal the pavement surface and add a textured skid resistant roadway for purposes of safety and asset preservation.

Leroy Township Receives $50,000 State Capital Grant for Walking Trail Improvements
Leroy Township, Ohio — Leroy Township is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a $50,000 grant through the State Capital Budget to support the refurbishment of the walking trail located on the former Leroy School property.
The funding will be used to improve and enhance the existing trail, creating a safer and more enjoyable recreational resource for township residents and visitors. Planned improvements may include trail resurfacing, drainage enhancements, accessibility upgrades, signage, and other infrastructure improvements designed to extend the life and usability of the trail.
"We are grateful to receive this investment through the efforts of our state representative, Jamie Callender," said township officials. "The walking trail at the former Leroy School property is an important community asset that provides residents with a place to exercise, enjoy the outdoors, and connect with neighbors. This grant will help ensure that the trail remains a valuable resource for years to come."
The former Leroy School property will hopefully become an important gathering place for the community. Township officials have prioritized maintaining and improving the site's recreational amenities. The grant funding will allow Leroy Township to make significant improvements without placing additional financial burden on local taxpayers.
Project planning is expected to begin soon, with construction and refurbishment activities anticipated to follow as schedules and conditions permit.
