In further news, as we inspected the new 2712, Chief Burchak made an executive decision to lock in the purchase of a second squad. This was with the blessing of township trustees to do so if he was satisfied with his findings today.
This agreement keeps the price in a year and a half similar to todayโ€™s price.
Along with finances, this decision breaks the mold and sets a new standard of our department no longer being reactive, but proactive.
We are expecting an almost identical ambulance to be delivered in early 2028 and serve out of the Hardy rd. fire house.
As always, we hope you never need us! But decisions are consistently being made to improve our response if the need arises!

Happy Thursday Painesville Township and Grand River. Today, an incredible development occurred that directly effects the efficiency of both fire and EMS response to the Painesville area as a whole. For the first time in its history, the new โ€œPainesville township station 4โ€ (old grand river), is staffed with 3 firefighter/medics.

This is the new standard set by the fire chief and shift captains when staffing is available. With this standard, station 1 will no longer have to send manpower to assist on every call that comes in for station 4. This keeps the busiest station (station 1) in quarters and available to respond to the mentor Avenue area with a full crew.

This is not a daily occurrence due to the minimum at station 4 is 2 firefighters, but it is progress!!

Painesville Township firefighters at station 3, would like to thank Tracy from Mission BBQ Mentor, OH. They took the time to drop off a very generous lunch spread for the duty crew!

Thank goodness they already had their physicals this year! ๐Ÿš’ ๐Ÿš‘ ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Painesville Township firefighters would like to take a moment to say thank you to our residents, trustees and fire Chief Eric Burchak. In February leadership made a large investment to update a considerable amount of turnout gear. Today the last of 10 sets purchased arrived. This provides firefighters with the protective equipment needed to serve the community and its visitors at a high level! ๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿš‘

We would like to thank Smokey Bones Bar and Fire grill! They made time to drop off dinner at both stations 1 & 4 in the past couple months.
It was a tremendous gesture and delicious!
