You have to love how the tree is slowly healing the wound as it compartmentalizes around the injury. Amazing what nature can do.πŸŒ³πŸ‘€πŸŒ³πŸ’ͺπŸŒ³πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸŒ³

Here's the follow-up to the new American Basswood (Tilia americana) tree in the Mantua area of Portage County courtesy of MAC. Thank you for the invite and the tour of your beautiful piece of property.

What a beauty of a Basswood. An older forest grown tree that became an open grown tree around 30 years ago. Roughly 45' or more to the first branch. A spectacular tree 🌳.

A HOSS indeed at 182" in circumference, over 91' tall, with a nice crown spread. Almost 300 points. Easily in the top 5 for Ohio when it comes to known MEGA Basswood trees. πŸŒ³πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸŒ³πŸ‘€πŸŒ³πŸ’ͺ🌳

If you know of any MEGA specimen, please send us a PM or send us an email to [email protected]

The new State Champion πŸ† Honeylocust (Gleditsia triacanthos) tree located the Spencer area of Medina County.

We found this tree back in 2018 and knew it would eventually be a contender for State Champ.

It's not a slouch either at a whopping
211" CBH, over 96' tall, and a 92' average crown spread...

If you know of another Champion πŸ† contender, please send us a PM or an email to [email protected]
Thank you. 🌳πŸ’ͺπŸŒ³πŸ‘€πŸŒ³πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸŒ³
