Today, we honor and celebrate Juneteenth. A day that commemorates freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of equality and justice.

In observance of Juneteenth, the NLCO offices will be closed on June 19. We encourage everyone to take time to reflect on the significance of this important day and join in celebrating Black history, culture, and achievement.

We will resume normal business hours on the next business day.

This year, we completed a Community To***co Survey for the first time since 2023. Unfortunately, some of the results were not as we hoped.

We saw a decrease ⬇in the number of respondents (50% to 49.2%) who supported smoking restrictions in public spaces, and a significant increase ⬆in people (35% to 51.1%) who were exposed to secondhand smoke at outdoor events.

Secondhand smoke remains a danger to everyone, and LCGHD will continue to work to reduce public exposure. For more information on the dangers of secondhand smoke, visit https://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/secondhand-smoke/index.html
