On Tuesday evening, PVFD firefighters, along with firefighters from Napoleonville and Labadieville, trained on the Multi Story prop from Louisiana Fire & Emergency Training Academy (FETA). Members trained on techniques for accessing an upper floor via an aerial ladder, advancing a charged hose up a stairway, and proper placement and use of ground ladders. We also received orientation on operation and setup of Napoleonville’s ladder truck. Thanks again to Andrew Metrejean of FETA for making such quality training available to us locally, and thanks to all the members of all departments who attended.

On November 4th PVFD will be hosting FETA’s Flashover prop. We look forward to sharing pictures from that training as well.

This evenings training was a continuation of the last three weeks trainings on extrication . Last Tuesday evening we began a series of vehicle extrication exercises with familiarization of our tools, and the anatomy of a typical vehicle we may encounter at a motor vehicle crash. Tonight’s focus was on vehicle stabilization, using cribbing and our rescue jacks. Members present were instructed on various ways to set up and use these versatile pieces of equipment. Tonight’s training was led by Training officer/ Asst. Chief Dwayne Leblanc. 11 members were in attendance this evening!

Last night, June 18th, the knights of Columbus monsignor landsman Assembled in Napoleonville held it annual banquet honoring the areas military veterans , law enforcement and Fire Departments. The Chiefs from each department along with Assumption parish sheriff Leland Falcon and Ascension parish sheriff Bobby Webre are asked to choose a deserving individual from their respective departments. This year’s recipient from the paincourtville VFD is Logan Falsetta . Logan was chosen because of his willingness to give his all in every situation. He gives 100 % on every call he responds to and at every training he is able to attend, he is a certified Emergency Medical Responder, he has been promoted to captain and is responsible for ensuring that Engine 36 is always ready for the next call. Like I always say, I live in the community in which we serve and I am lucky to have Logan and others like him at the ready if I myself or my loved ones are ever in need!! Please help me in congratulating Logan Falsetta on this well deserved award!!
