Pa’ia Youth and Cultural Center becomes the official base center for Love The Sea’s Youth Leadership Program !
The Love The Sea crew came to PYCC to create art with PYCC children. With the artistic vision of artist Charles-Antoine Valières , the children created artworks using marine debris.

For the occasion, they created a “Mālama i ke Kai” (care for the ocean) sign, highlighting the importance of protecting the ocean, a place of fun, learning, and discovery for the youth.

Check the full edit on our YouTube Channel (link in bio)

Love The Sea also created a space at PYCC where members can create, exchange, and learn more about ocean plastic pollution.

Come check us out at Paia Youth and Cultural Center!

Captain Paul Watson is free after 149 days of detention in a Greenland prison. It fills us up with joy. Denmark has finally rejected Japan’s extradition request.
Watson who was detained on false assault allegations (Watson was not at the scene of the alleged crimes) said shortly after being freed “ My time in jail at least served the purpose of focusing attention on Japan’s illegal whaling operations, and the added benefit of focusing attention on the killing of dolphins on the Danish Faroe islands. So in that sense, it was a successful campaign”.
Few people love the sea as much as Paul and Paul protects what he loves.

It’s Plastic Free July! This initiative provides resources and ideas to help you (and millions of others around the world) reduce single-use plastic waste everyday at home, work, school and more. Everything that happens on land ends up in our ocean so let’s join the movement and reflect on our own plastic consumption and see how much better we can do, together.
Here at Love The Sea we are all about community and team work. We are always up to raise awareness, inform and educate on ocean plastic pollution at local events, schools and beach clean ups thru our educational programs. Feel free to reach out.
These photos are from the latest that we attended to educate the next generation of ocean guardians.

Earth Day’s theme this year is Planet vs. Plastics.
For us at Love The Sea Plastic Free we fight that fight on a daily basis to keep our oceans Plastic Free. Our Youth Leadership Program (YLP) is there to raise awareness on the health risk of plastic for both humans and our environment to make ocean guardians out of the next generation.
For all our missions, we can count on an amazing team of volunteers that knows well that Earth Day is every day.

What a day it was! A huge mahalo to all our volunteers and supporters for making this H2R (Hard To Reach Coastal Clean up) possible last Sunday. Conditions were ruff and the access to the coast on Maui’s north-est side definitely hard! We collected around 30 cubic feet of plastic debris.
Full report in an edit coming soon.
