Exciting news about the Hotel Metropolitan! The Upper Town Heritage Foundation has named Dr. MarTeze Hammonds as Executive Director. This historic appointment marks the first paid staff position in the museum’s history. A Western Kentucky native and passionate advocate for African American history, Dr. Hammonds will lead efforts to expand programming, strengthen community engagement, and preserve the legacy of the Hotel Metropolitan.

We have a special thank you to Betty Dobson for her years of leadership, commitment, and vision that shaped the Hotel Metropolitan, one of Paducah’s most significant cultural landmarks.

Congratulations to Dr. Hammonds! The City is proud to partner with the Upper Town Heritage Foundation and nonprofit executive search firm KEES/Alford Executive Search on this exciting new chapter in the future of the Hotel Metropolitan.

School's out, but we won't forget about our students! Did you know Paducah Public Schools provide free breakfast and lunch for anyone 0-18 years of age in June and July? Join us for the Summer Feeding Kick-Off Celebration Thursday, June 4, 11-1 pm. The event is at Paducah Middle School.

Your child will see familiar faces in the dunking booth, explore the Touch-a-Trucks and leave with freebies! Students 0-18 will get a hot chicken nugget meal, plus four days of breakfast and lunch. We'll unveil the full summer feeding schedule and mobile locations, too!
