PADUCAH LIONS CLUB INFO
Calling on all businesses in the four state area.....an open letter for donations for the silent auction is here on the right.
Paducah Lions Club has spearheaded the Telethon for 66 years and just celebrated its 102nd Birthday in 2022! That's a lot of years of serving the community and surrounding areas, with millions of dollars donated by people just like you, to help improve their lives.
EYEGLASSES - the Lions first and most famous endeavor - are still collected and sent eyeglasses to countries around the world to help patients with no access to vision care. Paducah has collection sites at several large businesses and Walker Hall. Or just give your old eyeglasses to a Lion member - we'll get them to the correct place. Want a collection box - let us know. Lions will be selling reading glasses at BBQ on the River and other events in Paducah - stop by to say "hi".
In December 2021, western Kentucky experienced devastating tornados. Before the sun could rise the International Lions President was calling local members to ask how they could help. The result was three semi trucks loaded with supplies and Lions from multiple states arriving to help unload the trucks - during the Christmas season - to making a meaningful contribution to our local victims. Our motto WE SERVE was never better represented. Similar actions occurred with eastern KY flooding. Local Lions are always reaching out with the International Lions support.
Many smaller situations are addressed throughout the year. Paducah Lions is often not on the front page of the news, but we are there, in the background, serving our fellow citizens. We also give to international causes to help our world improve. Our service is international. Ukraine is one such cause.
Want to join a local club? We can help you do that. Paducah Lions meet the first and third Tuesdays of each month @ noon, at Walker Hall. Other clubs meet at different times. Just email us and we'll help you find a way to SERVE through a local Lions Club.
