The IBEW Local Union 816 office will be closed on Friday, July 3rd, 2026, in observance of Independence Day. We will resume our regular business hours on Monday, July 6th, 2026. We encourage all members to take this opportunity to celebrate the holiday safely and joyfully with family and friends. We are saddened to announce the passing of Gary Benton, a respected retiree and 50-year member of IBEW Local 816, who left us on June 24, 2026. His unwavering dedication to his work and the community has left a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Gary was not only a dedicated member of our union but also a mentor and friend to many. IBEW Local Union 816 held its annual family picnic this year, which was a great success. We had the pleasure of welcoming just over 170 members and their families, who gathered to enjoy a magnificent day at Venture River Waterpark. The event provided an excellent opportunity for our members to connect with one another and their families.
Shout out to “CB” for capturing memorable moments throughout the day, ensuring that these cherished experiences can be relived in the future.

We are saddened to announce the passing of three retired members whose invaluable contributions shaped our community. Glen "Tommy" Hobgood, a member for 57 years, passed away on June 5, 2026. James "Jimmie" Carter, whose 75 years of service to Local 816 made a lasting impact, also passed on June 5, 2026. Don Edwards, who dedicated 63 years to our organization, passed on June 9, 2026. Their legacies will endure, and their presence will be greatly missed. We extend our sincere condolences to their families and loved ones during this difficult time.
