Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 184 proudly welcomes the announcement of a new data center coming to Paducah. This project represents a major investment in our community and an opportunity for good jobs and long-term growth in Western Kentucky.
Our members are trained, safety-focused professionals who take pride in doing the job right. Union pipefitters have performed approximately 93% of data center work across the country, and with over 400,000 skilled tradesmen and women across the United States and Canada, we have the experience and manpower to meet the demands of projects like this.
Large projects bring questions, and we understand that. Those concerns deserve to be heard. Local 184 is committed to making sure this work is done safely, responsibly, and with the highest standards of quality.
Paducah has a long history of skilled union labor building important projects. Since the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant opened in 1952, union plumbers and pipefitters have played a role in the work done at that site. We are proud of that history and look forward to bringing that same level of skill and dedication to this project.
Local 184 believes local tradesmen and women should be a major part of building this project. When additional manpower is needed, Local 184 can bring in trained and qualified travelers from across the country to help meet the demand.
We look forward to working with our community partners to help build this project safely, efficiently, and the right way for Paducah.

Today, Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 184 pauses to observe Workers' Memorial Day.

We remember the brothers and sisters who left for work and never made it home. Their sacrifices are not forgotten, and their legacy drives our commitment to fight for safer jobsites every single day.

This day is not only about remembrance. This day is about action. We renew our promise to stand together, speak up, and demand the protections every worker deserves.

The Western KY AFL-CIO will be holding a prayer service today at 5:00 PM in honor of those workers. All are welcome to attend.
