Paducah, KY 42002 On December 13th, 2004 her life and her loved ones lives changed forever.

Laurel Dortch’s journey with Cancer: Laurel was a normal, happy, healthy, curious and beautiful 5-year-old girl. She was diagnosed with a rare childhood cancer called PNET (Primitive Neuroectodermal Tumor). This cancer is in the Ewing Sarcoma family. Over the next nine months she spent the majority of her time at Kosair Childrens Hospital. She endured three surgeries, 14 chemotherapy and 25 radiat

ion treatments. Words cannot explain how physically, emotionally and mentally tough this was on her little body and everyone around her. She was very brave and her faith never wavered. She completed her final chemotherapy treatment on august 6th 2005. Because PNET cancer is very aggressive she must do quarterly scans for 5 years to see if her cancer has come back. On August 22, 2006 Laurel got great news of clean scans. She is now one-year out of treatment. Laurel, her family and close friends have developed a passion to make a difference in the lives of the children and families that are dealing with this horrific disease. That is why she has created “The Laurel Foundation”.

LAUREL DORTCH. BBQ 2019

09/25/2019

One of the hardest parts of the BBQ on the River is clean up day. If you would like to help us do so, we will be there Sunday morning. The more people, the easier it is. If your child needs volunteer hours for school, and they are big enough to help with such a task, come down on Sunday morning. We really need the help! Thank you

From there, it will prompt you to select your charity. Type Laurel Foundation Inc in the search box. There are several out there. Ours talks about pediatric cancer in the heading and is based in Louisville, KY. Select us and shop away! It doesn’t cost the consumer anything at all!!
