14 Brothers or Sisters a day-
That number is staggering
We have to do better at being our brothers keeper.
As Union brothers and sisters we are always here for each other, yet we put more worry into someone getting a speck of dust in their eye at work than their mental health.
Maybe we just don’t know what to say? That’s understandable, but there are resources and experts out there. Just find a source to point them to.
It is time we look at physical and mental health both the same.
Check on your friends. Check on family. Even if a guy you don’t like on the jobsite is struggling, offer him some help, guidance or suggestions.
——YOU ——can be the difference in saving someone’s life!
Dial or text 988, someone is there 24/7

We have to consider mental health just like we consider our physical health.

For far too long on worksites we have made a bigger deal of someone needing a bandaid for a scratch than if we see someone mentally struggling.

The statistics for construction worker su***de is 4x the national average.
As Union members we are supposed to be here for each other working towards the common goals of all.
Be that support when you see someone in need.
When we say we Build Strong, we mean buildings, communities, and most importantly each other!

Check on someone today!

Mental health isn't a talking point. It's something that disproportionately affects our trades. This week is Construction Su***de Prevention Week, and we're challenging everyone to ask themselves and those around them... are you OK? It's OK if not. We have resources available to you. We're in this together 💛

9/11-
Anyone of age can remember where they were that day, the shock, the disbelief, and the sadness. But then almost systematically this country rose up and came together like never before.
Today we remember those we lost that day, all that responded that lost their lives, the workers who were hurt in the recovery and still carry sickness and trauma, and our servicemen we lost after defending our freedom.
While we are doing that, remember that sense of pride, determination, and togetherness we had immediately following this senseless attack. In a time our country seems to wish to tear itself apart internally, we could use that unity.
Take a moment to reflect on the fallen today, and take a moment to be a better family member, a better friend, a better coworker, and look to make your community and country a better place.
Say hi to someone you usually don't speak to, check on someone you worry about.

-Remember that day?

God Bless the USA
