Before we do the work to establish a community garden (fundraising and site prep), we want to explain how it would work and gauge interest in the program.
Bed Reservation and Fees:
Participants can reserve one or more 4x8 raised beds for the growing season.
The reservation fee for each bed is $50 per growing season.
Payment of the reservation fee secures the participant's bed(s) for the season.
Bed Maintenance:
Participants are responsible for maintaining their reserved bed(s) throughout the growing season.
Maintenance includes watering, weeding, and tending to the plants in the bed.
Participants must ensure that their plants do not encroach upon neighboring beds.
Garden Cleanup:
At the end of the growing season, participants must clean up and clear out their bed(s).
This includes removing all plant material, weeds, and debris from the bed and surrounding area.
Refund Policy:
Participants who effectively maintain and clean their bed(s) at the end of the growing season are eligible for a $25 refund.
Refunds will be issued after a designated inspection to ensure compliance with cleanup requirements.
Community Guidelines:
Participants must adhere to all community garden rules and guidelines.
Respect for fellow gardeners, shared spaces, and garden property is essential.
Any disputes or concerns should be addressed with the garden coordinator or designated authority.
Compliance and Enforcement:
Non-compliance with garden rules may result in the loss of bed reservation privileges.
The garden coordinator or designated authority reserves the right to enforce rules and address violations as necessary.
Waiver of Liability:
Participants understand and acknowledge that gardening involves inherent risks.
The community garden and its organizers are not liable for any injury, damage, or loss incurred while participating in the garden.
Agreement to Rules:
By reserving a bed in the community garden, participants agree to abide by all rules and guidelines outlined herein.
These rules aim to ensure fair and responsible use of the community garden beds while promoting a positive and collaborative gardening experience for all participants.
