Upcoming meetings
• November 7 (1st Saturday, a week early)

Meetings are once-a-month on Saturday at 10:30am and held in The National Quilt Museum classrooms. This club is open to quilters and sewists of all skill levels and strives to include individuals who are still working and can’t make meetings during weekday business hours. There are no dues or officers, please feel free to invite friends to join in.

Christi is teaching a free workshop to make this travel tray for our October meeting on Saturday the 10th at 10:30 am in the NQM classrooms.

Please bring your sewing machine with appliqué foot/edge stich foot, and 1/4" foot; 11" squares of inside and outside fabric; matching thread; and your general sewing supplies. A 90/14 topstitch or metallic needle is recommended.

A FREE table is available if you have fabric or sewing notions to rehome (but you have to take anything not claimed back home with you after the meeting).

We are NOT meeting the normal 2nd Saturday as the classroom is being used for a workshop on the 8th.

The plan is to work on our Star Wars challenge quilts, or make name tags, after showing off our latest projects.

Sharing a few free Quilt-Alongs spotted this summer for anyone interested! Both connect quilting and American history and our 250th anniversary.

1- a 5-part Block of the Month hosted by Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian. The design of each block is inspired by a different era of United States history, as seen through a Native lens.

2- Fabric of Appalachia: As the country commemorates the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, we’ll be hosting a nationwide quilt-along to explore “The Fabric of Appalachia" and focusing on hand piecing & hand quilting. Hosted by Great Smoky Mountain National Park.
