Empowered Solutions for Environmental Sustainability Mismanaged post-consumer plastic waste is a global challenge.

Empowering those in developing or infrastructure-limited regions of the world to find energy security through low-cost, appropriate technology based solutions to both reduce plastic accumulation in the environment and provide economic opportunities. This crisis is compounded by the stark limitations often found in developing or infrastructure limited regions of the world. At Empowered Solutions for Environmental Sustainability (ESES), we believe that, by combining “waste-to-energy” chemistry with a locally managed decentralized circular economy (LMDCE) model, we can provide significant long-lasting, positive influence in the regions that need it most.

Hello, friends and followers of Empowered Solutions for Environmental Sustainability. It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Kenneth ‘Ken’ Wheeler.

Mr. Wheeler was one of ESES’ founding board members, and a proud and continuous supporter of the work our nonprofit does. He supported the University of Kentucky and countless faculty and students with his mentorship and leadership.

As his family, friends, community and colleagues mourn his passing, ESES will find an appropriate and supportive way to honor Mr. Wheeler’s legacy while emphasizing the traits and virtues that he stood for.

This World Smile Day, ESES will be smiling. We smile while we empower communities. We smile while we fight plastic pollution. We smile while educating students and adults on environmental protection. What will you be smiling about, this World Smile Day?

Hey there, friends of ESES! We bring big news for Fall 2026! Despite our Kenya trip being delayed and setting back our progress on deploying processors to communities in need, our engineers stayed hard at work.

Because of their perseverance and determination, Poly3.0 is now solar! This is excellent news in the fight against plastic pollution. Further news and updates will follow in the upcoming weeks as we perfect this process 🤩☀️
