I was recently notified that I was selected to return to active duty status from fully retired status in the United States Air Force. Our plans and goals for The Farley Center remained unchanged. The Day Family has agreed to aid us along this journey by stepping in as property caretakers. I believe they will move the needle where I have not!

Please give your attention and effort to The Day Family as they continue the march forward for the whole of the Farley community. I’m excited to see the progress as things begin to take shape during my temporary absence.

Farley Warriors,

I’m excited to announce that an invitation was sent to all candidates running for McCracken County Judge Executive and for McCracken County Commissioner District 1 covering the Reidland/Farley area, and so far three candidates have been able to accept the invitation to speak to those participating in our cleanup event this Saturday!

Matt Moore, Danielle Guminski, and Jeff Lee plan to speak to those in attendance about their ideas and plans for McCracken County, if elected. This part of our day is currently scheduled to take place around the 11:30 a.m./12:00 p.m. timeframe during our lunch break sponsored by John Workman and Papa John’s Pizza.

Other candidates may be able to attend if their schedules allow. This is a time for community members to hear from their candidates and ask professional, intelligent questions and engage cordially. This is how I operate and how we intend to operate The Farley Center: with professionalism, dignity, and respect for all. I’m a Golden Rule AND a Platinum Rule kind of guy. Treat people how YOU want to be treated (Golden Rule), and treat people how THEY want to be treated (Platinum Rule). These are the rules of operation for The Farley Center.

While Safe Haven Church itself cannot board any pets, the owners of the former Farley Elementary School (aka the future Farley Community Center) have agreed to allow people sheltering inside the church to shelter their KENNELED pets inside the community center building located directly across the road from the church with the following in mind:

1. Pets are to be dropped off IN A KENNEL at the Community Center and not picked up until someone is leaving the church shelter with no intention to return.

2. We will try to have a volunteer attendant or two to stay with the pets but we cannot guarantee this at this time.

3. Pet owners are responsible to bring everything needed for their pet to include food, water, bowls, medication, and so on.

4. Each pet owner will be asked to sign a liability waiver BEFORE any pet is allowed to be dropped off.

5. Any animal(s) deemed by Church or Community Center representatives to be dangerous if their opinions will not be allowed to stay.

This is being offered as a free SERVICE to the community due to pending severe weather and a lack of other available resources in our community. This service is in partnership between Safe Haven Church and the Farley Community Center.

Neither representatives of Safe Haven Church nor the Farley Community Center (Farley Property Holdings LLC) are responsible for your pet if you voluntarily choose to shelter your pet in the Community Center (meaning, don’t be ugly to good people trying to do a nice thing for free while you’re in distress!).

We will have the school opened around 2:15-2:30 for pet drop off. I know they aren’t with you in the church basement but the school has inner rooms and it is a solid structure. Once the weather hits we will not be running between church and school. For those of you who are not aware, the church and school are across the street from each other.
