This week, our founder spoke out about the recent budget cuts impacting Kentucky’s foster care system.

These cuts will directly affect foster youth across our Commonwealth and the families who open their homes to care for them. At a time when so many children already face uncertainty, now is not the time to reduce support and resources for the very programs designed to protect and uplift them.

This is more than a budget issue, it’s about real children, real families, and real futures. Kentucky’s foster youth deserve stability, support, and leaders willing to fight for them. We urge our state and federal legislators to act now before more young people fall through the cracks.

We recently dropped off cooking supplies to The Scholar House, a residential campus that provides affordable housing and on-site support services for single parents pursuing full-time higher education.

Through community donations, we’re able to support single-parent families by helping meet everyday needs and reinforcing our mission to uplift and strengthen families right here in our community.

At our Paint, Snack, and Speak event, Independent Living youth courageously shared their lived experiences, perspectives, and voices about life in the foster care system. Their honesty created powerful conversations that allowed community members to hear directly from those who have walked through it.

By the end of the evening, many left not only with painted canvases, but with new understanding, thoughtful reflections, and deeper awareness about the realities of foster care.

From unseen to unstoppable. 💙

Thank you, Paducah, for your incredible generosity! Because of you, we’ve officially reached our luggage goal — and even overflowed the library with suitcases.

While that goal has been met, we are still collecting new kitchen supplies to support youth in independent living. Donations will continue to be accepted through the month of February at the McCracken County Public Library!

We’re partnering with the McCracken County Library to collect suitcases, duffel bags, and kitchen supplies for foster youth in our community. These simple items make a powerful difference—bringing dignity to youth who are often handed trash bags when moving between homes, and providing essential kitchen supplies for those transitioning into independent living.

Thank you to the McCracken County Library for partnering with us to collect donations that will help local foster youth!

In February we are collecting donations of suitcases and basic kitchen items for the One Heart Foundation - Paducah. Suitcases are especially important for youth who experience frequent placement changes, while kitchen items are essential for young adults transitioning into independent living between the ages of 18 and 21.
