It’s time for the creative art event of the year: Sanchez Art Center’s 18th Annual 50|50 Show! Prepare to be inspired, amazed, and immersed in one of the Bay Area’s most anticipated art experiences of the year. This unforgettable celebration of creativity brings together 50+ California-based artists, each challenged to create 50 original works of art in just 50 days. Beginning in June, these talented artists embarked on an artistic journey resulting in more than 2,650 unique 6” x 6” masterpieces — all waiting to be discovered.

Selected by juror Cynthia Lou, Twisted Track, and Sparrow Gallery, the 2026 50|50 Show showcases an incredible range of voices, styles, and visions. Lou commented on the diversity and quality of the submissions. Her selections reflect her love of color and texture. She additionally noted that, “selected submissions blended traditional mediums (such as oil, watercolor, photography, etc) with other mediums (textile/fiber, collage, cyanotype), creating pieces that are both experimental and expressive.”

Experience the complete collection in person at the Sanchez Art Center opening fundraising event — the only opportunity to see every installation and all the works together on the gallery walls!

See the galleries transformed again into a vibrant mosaic of styles, themes, and mediums. From abstract to landscapes, whimsical to thought-provoking, cultural traditions, family and ancestry, blended with nature. Watercolor, oil and acrylic. Mixed media to ceramic and glass. Photography, collage, printmaking and more, this is where creative boundaries are pushed, and surprises await throughout the Center.

Mark your calendars! The only chance to see all +2,500 artworks in their entirety is during the Opening Benefit Fundraiser on Fri, Sept 11 and Sat, Sept 12. It’s an exciting immersive experience that celebrates both artistic process and community connection. So whether you’re a longtime attendee or a first-time visitor, come and see why the 50|50 Show is considered the most wonderful time of the year for art! Tickets are available now on Eventbrite.com — and they regularly sell out! No tickets will be available at the door, so be sure to grab yours now. Each ticket lets you choose your preferred date and timed entry interval.

Expect: The opportunity to meet and connect with the artists behind the work; live music for a vibrant time; and, the chance to purchase your favorite pieces before the general public. (Note: All artworks remain on the walls during the benefit. Purchased pieces can be picked up or shipped for a small fee starting Sept 15.)

Proceeds from the annual 50|50 Show support Sanchez Art Center’s programs that, for nearly 30 years, have created community through art. Special thanks to exhibition sponsors: Art Guild of Pacifica and Shelldance Orchid Garden.

Since its colorful beginnings in 2009, the 50|50 Show has showcased more than 54,100 original works by over 1083 artists — offering collectors and casual art lovers alike a unique opportunity to discover accessible, affordable art. It’s an exciting immersive experience that celebrates both artistic process and community connection. So whether you’re a longtime supporter or a first-time visitor, come and see why the 50|50 Show is considered the most wonderful time of the year for art!

Missed out on opening tickets (they go fast!) or away that weekend? Don’t worry! The show will open to the general public at no charge on Sunday, Sept 13, 1— 5 pm. Art enthusiasts making purchases after the opening weekend will get to immediately take their newly acquired artworks home. From Fri, Sept 18 through the show’s closing on Sun, Oct 4, galleries are open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 1– 5 pm. Visitors are also welcomed in the afternoon during the week by advance appointment. 70% of art sales go directly to the artists. Sanchez Art Center is located at 1220 Linda Mar Blvd, Pacifica, CA. For more information: [email protected], SanchezArtCenter.org.

Sanchez Art Center Studio Artist Kimberlie Moutoux and Vivian Walz, both Art Guild of Pacifica Members are together in this inspirational show:

Enzo Gallery Opening
KIMBERLIE MOUTOUX QUILTS
VIVIAN WALZ ASSEMBLAGES
BIRDS BY BIRDERS
Opening Reception:
July 18, 2026 4-7PM

Kimberlie Moutoux is a photographer, painter, ceramicist, and textile artist, who combines applique and quilting to depict broad themes such as migration and habitat, as well as individual species of birds. In addition to her art practice, she is a certified Master Birder, leading field trips and conducting research at Filoli Historic House and Gardens, Jasper Ridge Biological Preserves at Stanford University, Alcatraz Island, and the Golden Gate Raptor Observatory.

While Vivian Walz's birding claims are more modest, both her art and her wanderings are inspired by this quote from John Muir Laws, a local naturalist and leader in the nature journaling community: "Birding is a window into the natural world." She combines direct observation with photo references to create colored pencil drawings, hand-cut silhouettes, and collages. Her favorite local birding spots are San Bruno Mountain State and County Park, San Pedro Valley Park in Pacifica, and Pillar Point Harbor.

Original cards, prints, small works, and larger pieces will be available for sale. The gallery will be open on Sundays, 1-5 PM, thru August 16th, & by appointment.
