Yesterday, we gathered to finally open boxes many of us have been holding onto for over a year. Inside were small pieces saved from our homes, items we held onto because we weren’t quite ready to let them go. Together, neighbors shared stories and transformed those pieces into personal memory boxes, creating something lasting, meaningful, and uniquely their own.

Some arrived on their own, some came with friends, but by the end we had created something together. New connections, shared moments, and a room full of creativity. Proof that healing can happen quietly, side by side.

Thank you to everyone who came and trusted this space with your stories. Seeing the memory boxes you created, and the inspiration they sparked, was incredibly meaningful.

This workshop was made possible with support from the , honoring the one year anniversary with a gathering that helped us keep moving forward. Thank you to for welcoming us into your space and for the continued work you do to help our community rebuild. for being our marketing partner. And thank you to and .by.sydney for the sweet treats that added an extra moment of comfort to the day.

Thank you to our workshop assistants from Pali High, a current student, and ,a graduate. They helped guests shape their ideas, bring their memory boxes to life, capture moments throughout the workshop, and were always ready to lend a hand.

See you at the next Hands That Heal workshop. ❤️‍🩹

For many of us, the past year has been marked by loss, disruption, and long stretches of uncertainty. Recovery has not been quick or linear, and for many neighbors, it is still unfolding—or just beginning.

As we step into a new year, many of us are still holding onto small, broken pieces of home gathered from our lots - items we saved without quite knowing what to do with them, only that we weren’t ready to let them go. This workshop was created for that exact purpose.

Pieces of Home is a free, guided art workshop for individuals impacted by the 2025 LA wildfires. As part of our Hands That Heal program, the experience offers space to reflect on what home has meant, what was lost, and what participants want to carry forward into the next chapter.

Through a guided, hands-on process, participants will create a personal art piece using both provided materials and any meaningful items they choose to bring. The focus is not on artistic skill, but on preserving memory and meaning, while gently making room for what comes next.

We invite neighbors who have been carrying a lot this year to join us. This workshop is a chance to slow down, be with community, and transform what you’ve been holding onto into something tangible. Sometimes moving forward begins by creating space to reflect—together.

2025 held hard days, impossible moments, and stretches where the road felt empty and uncertain. Times when pushing forward felt heavier than stopping. Times when breaking down felt necessary before moving on.

To every donor, sponsor, and partner who walked alongside us this year — thank you. Your support helped families take their next steps forward, even when the path wasn’t clear.

As we enter a new year, we remain committed to being there for those facing whatever comes next. Not with promises that it will be easy — but with support, presence, and community.

Here’s to the road ahead.
Happy New Year!
