I understand that there are a wide variety of opinions on this, and I respect your right to your opinion. I'm not here to try and sway your opinion in any way. But, please, let's not turn this post into a debate post. This is strictly to help keep people alive, and that's all that should matter.
For anyone still struggling with a substance use disorder, here are some resources to help keep you alive for when/if you decide to quit.
(Modified post originally posted by Mike S Brown- to include Indiana based resources)
Never Use Alone.
PLEASE, don't use while you're alone, with no one to call for help if you need it. If you're alone and using, call our 24/7/365, toll-free, US National Overdose Response Line, called Never Use Alone at 1-877-696-1996. One of our operators will stay on the phone with you to make sure you're ok after using. If you stop responding, we'll send an ambulance to your location.
All calls are confidential. No one will know you called, and we never share your information with anyone other than EMS if needed.
All operators are people with lived experience. They've all been there. No one will ever judge you, shame you, or preach at you about quitting. It's not our place to decide when, or even IF, you decide to quit. Our only goal is to increase your chances of surviving what could otherwise be a fatal medical emergency. If you ask for help, we'll go to the end of the earth to help you, but only if you ask.
If anyone has any questions about our service, please let me know. There are some of our more commonly asked questions/answers on the FAQ page of our website at www.neverusealone.com/faq.
Knowing the Good Samaritan Law.
The IN Good Samaritan Law protects people from prosecution, who call for help when someone is overdosing.
Please know and understand our states GSL and Narcan Policies. You can get more info on that athttps://www.in.gov/health/overdose-prevention/files/Aarons-Law-Primer.pdf
Accessing Naloxone

Overdose Response App
For those that only have Wi-Fi, or just don't like talking on the phone. There's an overdose response app that does the same thing as NUA, but through an app. It's called the Brave App, and it's available to anyone in the US or Canada. You can get more info on that at www.thebraveapp.com . Never Use Alone partners with them on a lot of projects.
Canadian National Overdose Response Line
There is also a Canadian National Overdose Response Line. You can get more info on the Canadian national line at www.nors.ca.
Stay safe everyone! You're loved!
The Brave App is an Overdose Detection app that connects people who use drugs alone with anonymous remote supervision. No judgment. Just love. Learn more.
