As we wrap a bow on another year, Binie and I want to wish you and all of yours a Shana Tova U’Metukah - the happiest and healthiest, sweetest and most successful of New Years.
May all of your prayers this High Holiday season be answered in their fullest and may 5787 bring with it the peace, prosperity, joy and serenity that we all desire.
However our paths crossed this past year, we hope to run into you again in the next one and share positive and meaningful experiences with each of you.
Shana Tova from the Holtzbergs

In this weeks Torah portion, Moshe gathers the Jewish people right before his passing to enter them into a covenant with G-d. The Torah describes the unity of the Jewish people at that moment. Everyone was standing there, from the wood choppers and the water carriers to the elite among the people. That unity, carried through the generations to us today. When we stand before G-d, we are never standing alone. The entire Jewish people are standing with us. As we approach Rosh Hashana in just one week, let’s tap into that unity before we stand before G-d on our day of judgement. When we stand all together, our collective merits will surely tip the heavenly scale in our favor.

Afterlife is a very rational, natural consequence of the order of things.
After all, nothing is ever lost—even the body only transforms into earth. But nothing is lost.
So too, the person you are is never lost. That person—that soul—only returns to its origin.
If your soul became acutely attached to the material world during its stay here, then it must painfully rip itself away to make the journey back.
But if it was only a traveler, connected to its source all along, then its ride home is heavenly.
