As we honor our fallen heros and the families left behind- Memorial Day weekend is a time for family, laughter, sunshine, and making memories near the water. It is also one of the most dangerous weekends of the year for drowning accidents.

Eleven years ago, our beautiful Carissa drowned in a river in Maine. One moment changed our family forever.

In her honor, we ask every parent, grandparent, friend, and caregiver:
• Put children in life jackets near open water
• Never assume someone else is watching
• Stay within arm’s reach of young swimmers
• Rivers are powerful, unpredictable, and cold
• Water safety saves lives

Please make safety the memory you carry home this weekend.
