On May 13th, the Ozark Guns & Hoses team and Cornerstone Building Supply enjoyed an incredible evening at Dinner with the Chiefs & Players!

It was truly a wonderful night celebrating community, partnership, and the amazing men and women who serve Ozark every day. From great food and fellowship to laughter and connection, the evening reminded us what makes this event so special each year.

🔥🚨 Applications Now Open – 2026 Citizens Fire Academy 🚨

Have you ever wondered what it really takes to be a firefighter?

The 2026 Citizens Fire Academy is your chance to step behind the scenes and experience the fire service firsthand. This hands-on program gives community members the opportunity to train alongside the firefighters and command staff who serve our district every day.

Participants will experience:

🔥 CPR Training & Certification
🔥 Fire Extinguisher Training
🔥 Fire Behavior Demonstrations
🔥 Fireground Skills Training
🔥 Vehicle Extrication Operations
🔥 Search & Rescue in Simulated Smoke

This is more than a class—it is an opportunity to experience the teamwork, training, and dedication required to protect lives and property.

⚠️ Enrollment is limited to 16 participants.

The 2026 Citizens Fire Academy is quickly approaching, and we are pleased to announce that applications remain open through March 31, 2026. This year’s program provides a comprehensive, hands-on introduction to the fire service, offering participants an opportunity to learn directly from our firefighters and command staff.

Throughout the academy, students will take part in a series of practical and instructional sessions, including:

CPR Training & Certification – Formal instruction paired with practical skill development.
Fire Extinguisher Training – Live extinguisher practice using our training prop.
Fire Dynamics & Live Dollhouse Burn Demonstration – An inside look at fire behavior and suppression tactics in real time.
Hands-On Fireground Skills – Hose advancement, ladders, forcible entry, ventilation, and more.
Vehicle Extrication Night – Operation of extrication tools under the direction of trained personnel.
Search & Rescue in Simulated Smoke – Search techniques, thermal imaging, and movement in low-visibility environments.

Enrollment is limited to 16 participants, and applications will be reviewed following the deadline. Community members who live or work within the Ozark Fire Protection District and are seeking an educational, engaging, and meaningful experience are encouraged to apply early.

Let’s keep it up!

Let’s keep the momentum going, Ozark and Nixa. Thanks to your generosity, more than 100 pounds of food and essential supplies have already been donated—and we are only halfway through the month. Your continued support makes a real difference for families in our community.

Please remember to drop off non-perishable canned goods and household supplies at any Ozark or Nixa Fire Station. All donations will go directly to Least of These, Inc., serving families across Christian County.

Together, let’s finish this month strong and continue supporting our neighbors in need.

A BIG SHOUTOUT to Monkey Business Events for being part of the Free Event: 2nd Annual Ozark Guns & Hoses plus National Night Out TODAY…. SATURDAY… September 6. We will have FOUR (4) BOUNCE HOUSES and another FUN GAME!

Come out and bring your family for a lot of FUN and stay and watch the Guns & Hoses softball game where the Ozark Police and Fire battle it out! Gates open at 4:00 pm and the game starts at 7:00 pm.
