The GFWC Maude Martin Study Club is seeking nominations for the 2023 Ozark Man and Woman of the Year. The club is honored to award those individuals within the community of Ozark who have exemplified outstanding character and exceptional community service.
Nominations will be accepted from organizations within Ozark which have been established for at least five years, to include nonpolitical service, civic, garden and other service oriented clubs and organizations.
The award selection committee will select an exceptional man and woman to represent Ozark who meets the following criteria:
1. Courage - Exemplifies courage and determination to follow one's own values.
2. Initiative - Demonstrates drive and initiative in his/her approaching and overcoming challenges which may be encountered.
3. Time Commitment - Volunteers a significant amount of time and energy to further a cause or issue; more than just financial contributions.
4. Effectiveness - Generates positive results for the community.
s. Unselfishness - Does not expect anything in return for his/her actions, i.e. financial compensation, personal gain, or political notoriety.
6. Nominees must be an Ozark area resident.
To nominate an individual(s) organizations must submit a detailed, written account (300-word synopsis or less) of the activities and accomplishments of each nominee.
Accomplishments shall be considered for the current year only - from January 1 through December 31, 2023. Activities to be included should be community service and/or betterment, service to schools and youth, support of the arts, church involvement and professional involvement. Name, address, telephone number, and email address should be included for each nominee. Along with the synopsis, organizations should submit two (2) letters of recommendation supporting the nominee.
Nominee(s) must reside within the immediate area of the city of Ozark or Dale County, or work in Ozark or Dale County, and community service must be performed within this geographical location.
Each organization may nominate one man and one woman for this prestigious award.

36360. All entries must be postmarked no later than Wednesday, November 20, 2023. Emailed entries will be accepted if time stamped no later than 11:59 pm on November 20, 2023.
