Nixa Fire Responds to Stone County Shooting Incident
Last night, Nixa Fire District was dispatched to Riverfork Ranch in Stone County for an unknown situation with possible injuries from a gunshot. Along with Sheriff’s Deputies from Christian and Stone counties, Nixa PD, and MSHP, Nixa Fire responded and staged nearby, ready to provide immediate medical care to any patients or law enforcement as the incident unfolded. In coordination with Christian County Ambulance District, we began preparing medical resources for any victims or law enforcement officers who may need care throughout the operation. Cox Air Care landed as a precaution, and several EMS units were staged at the scene or moved up throughout the county to prepare for the worst. In rapidly changing environments like this, Nixa Fire is committed to aggressively planning for the worst to achieve the best outcome. This includes making medical care available at the scene when seconds count. Resource management, accountability, and interagency communication are all key pieces we bring to the table to support a successful mission. Our goal on calls like these is simple. To keep the community safe and support our law enforcement partners as they work through tough situations.
