The good habits you build in your spiritual life are going to pay off forever in eternity.

“Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.”

1 Corinthians 9:25 (NIV)

“Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them”

I challenge you as a believer to commit to becoming an agent of reconciliation in a world filled with conflict

“[God] has restored our relationship with him through Christ, and has given us this ministry of restoring relationships. In other words, God was using Christ to restore his relationship with humanity. He didn’t hold people’s faults against them, and he has given us this message of restored relationships to tell others.”

2 Corinthians 5:18-19 (GW)

Two Steps To Handle Temptation

If you want to successfully handle temptation, then claim the promises that God gave in his Word about temptation. Everybody ought to memorize 1 Corinthians 10:13: “God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it” (NIV).

“Accept God’s salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”

Ephesians 6:17 (NCV

⚓️How true is the first sentence in today’s devotional!!
We can’t imagine how the Lord could ever be able to help with our seemingly impossible situation…but that’s because His thoughts and ways are far beyond our comprehension.
Read Isaiah 55:8-9
He is truly our Anchor of Hope.

Limitless Power
- September 3 -
(from He Whispers Your Name by C. Hill)

You tend to doubt Me because you compare My abilities with your own.
As your circumstances become more difficult, you assume that if you
can't figure things out, I can't either. You struggle endlessly to make
sense of what doesn't and in the process you not only give up on yourself,
you give up on Me.
You so easily forget that My ways are higher than your ways. I work
outside of time and space and I AM able to do the impossible through
My supernatural abilities. There is nothing I cannot do. So when your
life seems to be falling apart at the seams, let go of your desire to sit on
My throne and instead allow Me to do what only I can do.
You might be in a pit, but I can pull you out. Your boat may have
drifted far off course, but I have an anchor of hope to keep you from
being lost at sea. And you can let go of the rope you're barely hanging
on to because I'm holding on to you. You can stop the struggle and rest
while I work. You may have run out of options, but I never do. Your
victory will come when you realize the limits of your own abilities and
grasp the limitlessness of Mine.

I did this so you would trust not in human wisdom but in
the power of God. 1 Corinthians 2:5

8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Isaiah 55:8-9

When Temptation Calls,
Just Hang Up

The goal is not to see how close you can get to temptation but rather how far away from it you can stay!

“A wise person is cautious and turns away from evil, but a fool is arrogant and careless.”

Proverbs 14:16 (NASB)

Kids need experiences that stretch them, reveal their talents, and develop their lives for ministry. They need challenges where they develop responsibility. One of the most important life skills all of us have to learn is responsibility.

“Whoever can be trusted with a little can also be trusted with a lot . . . If you cannot be trusted with things that belong to someone else, who will give you things of your own?”

Luke 16:10, 12 (NCV)

God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.”

Romans 5:8 (NLT)

But the Lord stood with me and gave me strength so that I might preach the Good News in its entirety for all the Gentiles to hear. And he rescued me from certain death.”

It's your choice not to gossip----instead repay the wrong done to you with a blessing.

“Love prospers when a fault is forgiven, but dwelling on it separates close friends.”

Proverbs 17:9 (NLT)

“Do not do wrong to repay a wrong, and do not insult to repay an insult. But repay with a blessing, because you yourselves were called to do this so that you might receive a blessing”

1 Peter 3:9 (NCV).

Hurt people hurt people

“A person’s wisdom yields patience; it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense.”

Proverbs 19:11 (NIV)
