Rain or shine, we’re celebrating America, baby! 🇺🇸✨

The parade rolls through town about noon, and when it’s over, head on over to the park because the fun is just getting started!

We’re talking hot dogs, cold drinks, kids activities, balloon animals, and all the small-town America vibes we know and love. ❤️🤍💙

Everything is free will donation, and every dollar raised goes directly toward the next phase of the park project. So grab your lawn chairs, wear your red, white, and blue, and come spend the afternoon making memories with us.

See you after the parade! 🇺🇸

See ya Saturday 😎It’ll be a hot one but we’ve got your back. Food, drinks, sweet treats, fun and more

Some of the best memories aren’t made at big events.

They’re made at community BBQs, watching kids play, and catching up with neighbors.

Join us after the parade for a classic small-town Fourth of July celebration.

Come for the parade.

Stay for the BBQ.

Leave with a few new memories and probably a popsicle stain somewhere.

Join us July 4th at 12:15.

🚗 Parking Options for the Fourth of July 🚗

You have two options for parking:

Option 1: Park at Deep Creek Machining and make a free-will donation toward the Oyens Park project. Your parking spot can help build a better place for our community’s kids to play.

Option 2: Park along the streets throughout town.

If you choose street parking, please be mindful of driveways, intersections, and most importantly, the prime candy-catching locations. We don’t want anyone missing out on a Tootsie Roll because of a poorly parked pickup.

See you at the parade!

🌳 Park Progress Update 🌳

Now that the playground is open and our kids are finally getting to enjoy it, we’ve quietly been working on what comes next.

One thing we’ve learned through this project is that a park isn’t just playground equipment. It’s a gathering place. It’s where kids meet new friends, where parents catch up after a long day, where grandparents watch grandkids play, and where a community comes together.

We’ve been exploring ideas for the next phase of Oyens Park, and we’re excited to share a glimpse of the vision.

We’re looking at adding a basketball court that could also serve as two pickleball courts, giving older kids, teens, and adults a place to stay active and have fun. We’re also considering a 12x16 gazebo that would provide a dedicated space for birthday parties, family picnics, community gatherings, or simply sitting and enjoying a summer evening.

The pine trees along the back of the park will continue to grow and eventually create a natural windbreak, helping make the park more comfortable for everyone who uses it.

Nothing is set in stone yet, but these are the conversations happening behind the scenes as we continue thinking about how this space can serve Oyens families for years to come.

A year ago, this park was just an idea. Today it’s full of laughing kids. We can’t wait to see what comes next. ❤️

What would you love to see added to the park in the future?

Communities grow when neighbors stop waiting and start building.

Not waiting for someone else to fix it.
Not waiting for the perfect plan.
Just deciding that this place matters enough to take the first step.

That is how things change in a small town.

It starts with a conversation.
A few people showing up.
Someone saying we could make this better and meaning it.

From there, small efforts turn into real progress.
A cleanup becomes a gathering.
An idea becomes a project.
A project becomes something the whole community can be proud of.

No one person builds a town.

But together, we shape what it becomes.

If you have ever thought about getting involved, this is your sign.

We would love to connect and help you find a way to be part of what we are building here in Oyens ❤️

A rural childhood looks different, and that difference matters.

It is not always fast.
It is not always polished.
But it is real in a way that stays with you.

It is kids running until the streetlights come on, not because they have to, but because they do not want to go inside.

It is scraped knees, muddy shoes, and stories that start with “you should have seen what we did today.”

It is learning independence a little earlier and responsibility without being asked.

In a small town, kids are known.
By neighbors.
By families.
By people who care enough to look out for them.

They grow up seeing what it means to show up, to help out, and to be part of something bigger than themselves.

That kind of childhood shapes who they become.

And that difference matters more than we realize.

If you grew up here, what is your favorite childhood memory in Oyens? We would love to hear it ❤️
