🍂 Fall is knocking, and Y-KNOT is answering.

New month, new season and a new season of growth for our young people. As September rolls in, our programs are opening back up, all built on the K.N.O.T. framework: Knowledge, Nurturing, Opportunities, and Teaching.

Backpacks are packed and school is back in session but for some of our kids, just walking through the door is the hard part. Here's what mentoring changed for two of them. 🎒

One didn't see the point of school. His Empower Youth Mentoring mentor just kept showing up. Today? College grad, now working on his master's. 🎓

Another was missing school twice a week until we made one thing clear: no school, no program. Almost overnight, showing up stopped being a chore and started being a choice.

That's what mentoring does. A consistent adult who won't quit on you changes everything else grades, attendance, belief in yourself.

💻 6-Week Virtual Academy

“Let Your Hands Do the Talking” is a 6-week introductory American Sign Language (ASL) course that opens a whole new world of communication.

Participants will learn the foundations of ASL in a fun, interactive virtual environment while building confidence in communicating with members of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community. Through engaging lessons and hands-on practice, students will develop practical signing skills they can begin using right away.

Six weeks. A new language. A new way to connect.
