Community Roots Garden

Community Roots Garden A whole acre of rich Oxnard soil. A bunch of caring people. And a dream. You can help in whatever way you’d like. Come volunteer with us!

We invite you to come dig, w**d, learn, teach, ask questions, take a shift on irrigation, cook for our Saturday meals, share ideas, or donate materials or funding. Volunteering with us is rewarding because it is tangible—you can watch it grow!—and for the simple satisfaction of working with others on something meaningful. Working in the garden is also a fun way to complete needed community service hours. Contact our volunteer Coordinator at [email protected]

Want your basil plant to thrive well into the fall? Keep it pruned! The trick is to pluck the stem or a flowering head where it meets two new shoots. Do this when you harvest to promote new growth and bushing.
