Labor Day Lunch Plan.

We held a good drill tonight at the ferry dock, focusing on getting water from the river to our ladder truck, to move a large volume of water to a fire when fire hydrants are not available.

Many homes on creeks and rivers in our area are the focus of this scenario. We bring our fire boat to a dock, and draft water and send it to various apparatus, including our ladder truck, tonight we flowed just over 1000 gallons of water a minute. This is an unlimited water supply, and then we don’t have to worry about bringing large apparatus down small country lanes that might otherwise be inaccessible.

We also used one of our fire engines to draft water out of the river - another tool in the tool box.

It was great to welcome our friends from Cordova Volunteer Firemen's Association and Queen Anne Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Company, who brought several members of their cadet program to see our boat for the first time.
