‘Oxford Community Center is a non-stock, not-for-profit, Maryland
corporation, exempt from taxation under IRC Section 501(c)(3), and has
not participated, is not participating, and will not participate in, or
intervene in, any political campaign on behalf of any candidate for
public office.’
Originally built in 1928 as a public school, the OCC building was saved and repurposed as a nonprofit comm
unity center in 1981 and served as a hub for community and cultural activities for three decades. With the help of many generous donors and funding from the state of Maryland, OCC restored and renovated the old school building. Reopened in 2012, the building has received awards for historic preservation, as well as LEED gold certification for its green technology. OCC presents a wide variety of cultural, educational, artistic, recreational and social programs and events for residents and visitors.
