🌟 Meet Olivia Wendel, Director of Operations for The Algernon Sydney Sullivan Foundation.

As the newest addition to the Sullivan team, Olivia supports programs and initiatives focused on leadership, service, and student development across the Foundation’s network.

A graduate of the University of Mississippi and a former Sullivan Foundation intern throughout her college career, Olivia brings a hands-on approach to helping equip the next generation of changemakers. She is passionate about empowering students to lead with purpose, grow through meaningful experiences, and create positive impact in their communities.

Her journey from Sullivan intern to Director of Operations also reflects the kind of long-term connection and leadership development we hope to foster throughout the Sullivan community.

Outside of her work with the Foundation, Olivia enjoys reading, embroidering, and serving in her community.

We’re excited to have Olivia as part of the Sullivan team!

📚 Great student experiences begin with great faculty.

Sullivan Weekend would not be possible without our dedicated faculty and Campus Liaisons. Every day, they teach, mentor, encourage, and guide students as they grow into stronger, more purposeful leaders.

They recruit students to attend the Ignite Retreat, travel with them, and give an entire weekend of their own time to share in the experience.

And at Sullivan Weekend, faculty are far more than chaperones.

Through the Faculty Forum, they have programming designed specifically for them, along with opportunities to connect with peers, explore new ideas, and observe their students learning and growing in real time.

If you are a faculty member at a college or university and have never attended the Faculty Forum, now is the time.

Invest in your students. Invest in yourself. Register today!

🌟 Every Sullivan journey starts somewhere.

For Arya, his journey as an Individual Sullivan Fellow began at Sullivan Weekend.

The experience introduced him to the Sullivan community and gave him an opportunity to think more deeply about his own leadership, purpose, and the ways he hoped to grow. From there, he could begin to envision what the next three years as a Sullivan Fellow might hold.

🎥 Hear from Arya about his Sullivan Weekend experience and how it helped shape his vision for his journey through the Fellowship.

🎓 A Sullivan tradition nearly 100 years strong.

presents the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Awards during its Premier Awards dinner, with recipients traditionally recognized again at the Tapping on the Mound ceremony during Honors Week.

The University of Alabama was among the earliest institutions to present the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award, beginning in May 1927.

Now, as we approach the 100th anniversary of that tradition, we are planning a special centennial celebration to honor a century of character, leadership, and service at Alabama.

Stay tuned. More details are coming soon!
