Hockey Has Heart is a new program developed to provide a fun experience for community members of Butler County to get out of the house and into the hockey rink! We are Allyson Doppke and Maddy Macleish and our goal is to bring people with disabilities together to learn to play the great game of Ice Hockey. We are welcoming all ages, genders and skill levels to be a part of this program. Using hockey as an outlet for people to exercise and have fun, we will no doubt be creating lasting memories for all that participate. If watching from the stands sounds more comfortable than skating, know you are still more than welcome to join us! We encourage you to come out and have fun watching while listening to some fun music and enjoying pizza! This is a nonprofit organization, and there is no cost to join Hockey Has Heart. The skating events will be held in Goggin Ice Center at Miami University in Oxford, OH. The time and date of the first skate will be determined based upon the number of interested skaters. If this sounds like fun and you’re willing to come meet new friends then please join our program by contacting either Allyson at [email protected] or Maddy at [email protected]. Please provide your age, skill level, (beginner, some experience or expert!) and if you have skates or any hockey equipment. If you are excited to join but do not have skates or need equipment please let us know as the arena is happy to help provide the necessary equipment. It is not mandatory to come to every skate upon joining the program. If you know of anyone that would be interested please share our information and do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns. We look forward to seeing all of you and thank you in advance for your interest in our program. We can’t wait to see where this can go!
See you at the rink!
