Last Friday Cook Family Foundation staff and trustees visited University of Michigan to review how our first year of the Cook Scholars program went. The Cook Scholars program launched in 2025 and students were met with intentional support throughout the year from the program. Program Manager - Jeri Preston - presented to the group on numbers, testimonials, and planning for the future.

Our team was so pleased to be part of the annual awards night with The Shiawassee Regional Chamber of Commerce. We were impressed with the community commitment of all the award recipients, and were honored to have our newest employee, Jamie Semans, present the Community Champion award to Joe Hammontree of the Shiawassee Family YMCA. And another of our nonprofit partners, the Lebowsky Center for Performing Arts received a Legacy Award for its historic contributions to our community. Bravo!

Mark your calendar for Thursdays for food distribution for youth through the Shiawassee Family YMCA! Food distribution will be at St. John's UCC church due to construction at the YMCA. This is a great opportunity to get food for breakfast and lunch for students in need of food support. Please share!
