James Arthur Cooper, Sr. , age 86, of Owosso, MI, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Hazel Findlay Country Manor, St. Johns, MI.
Cremation has taken place and a service will be held at a later date.
James was born in Owosso, Michigan on October 6, 1936, the son of Elwyn K. and Elna M. (Walters) Cooper. James married Carol Ann Curtis on December 12, 1964 and she passed away May 19, 2015.
Jim was employed for 35 years with the Corunna Public Schools doing maintenance for their transportation department. He was also a lifelong farmer who was busy tinkering and mowing lawn. In 1995 Jim moved into town and he enjoyed walking and being outdoors. He was a member of the Community Radio Watch for 10 years helping to assist with blocking streets for parades, events and traffic accidents in Owosso.
Jim is survived by his children: James Arthur Cooper Jr. and Wanda Hyatt of Owosso, MI; Debbie Duntley and fiancé Richard Pedlar of Owosso, MI; grandchildren: Michael James Duntley, Nathaniel Max Duntley, Laura Hyatt, Danielle and Trevor Adamski; and his great- grandchildren: Matthew Churchill, Devin Adamski, and Cameron Adamski. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Carol , and brother and sister-in-law Richard and Donna Cooper,

Due to a shortage of volunteers, safety concerns, and no support from local municipalities. CRW will only be able to do small events for traffic control.

If your organization has an event and wants to contact us with the details. We would be happy to see if we can help.

First meeting of the year will be Wednesday May 12th @ 6:30 PM Hopkins Lake Park. Please remember to wear a mask and social distance. If you are planning on continuing to be a member of our group it's important that you attend this meeting.

Elsie Dairy Days has been cancelled. Look like we won’t have any events this summer.

Sadly, we regret to inform our friends and families in the Ovid-Elsie community that the decision has been made to cancel the 2020 Elsie Dairy Festival. This was not an easy decision, but it was made in the best interest of everyone’s health and safety. We look forward to seeing you all in 2021! 🐮

We have NPE parking starting this Saturday the 16th and 17th. No Fridays.

We have 2 shifts 8am and 3pm. They will last for 1.5 hours.

We have recently purchased a new UHF FCC licensed mobile repeater. Our license allows the C.R.W. to operate in all Michigan communities.

I would also like to say thank you to the CRW Board of Directors and members for their hard work and dedication, we would not be able to make this possible without teamwork.
