Judge Matthew Stewart in the clock tower.
Inside The Historic Court House Attic and Clock/Bell Tower, Corunna MI.
Corunna, Mi. - On Friday 35th Circuit Court Judge Matthew Stewart and I visited an area that has seen very few visitors over the years. To reach the court house clock/bell tower one must first enter the attic that is the size of the building with a tall ceiling.
Then must walk up a steep staircase and enter another large room. From there one climbs a steep ladder to enter the bell room that has large window openings and walkway that gives one a panoramic view of the city and beyond. Inside the bell room a tall steep ladder takes one into the clock tower.
The clock tower is not easy to reach and apparently very few people have visited it since it was built since the builders and visitors have signed their names to the walls and door of the clock room.
The bell we are told is not working at this time.
The view is amazing and we will post another story with photos of the land from the tower.
We are posting several photos of names taken from various angles. Please let us know what is written on the bell as well as the names left for posterity?
