Accepting Christ isn't about getting God to love you—He already does with an everlasting love.

It's about receiving the relationship He's already extending to you, stepping into the life He's already secured for you through Jesus.

God's love doesn't begin when you accept Christ; it's what makes accepting Christ possible. His heart for you came first. His pursuit of you came first. His sacrifice for you came first. Your acceptance is a beautiful response to His initiative.

"We love Him because He first loved us" (1 John 4:19). First. Before you even knew you needed Him, He was already moving toward you with love.

When you accept Christ, you're not convincing God to care about you—you're receiving the care He's already demonstrated through the cross. You're not earning His favor—you're stepping into the favor He's already secured for you.

This changes everything about how salvation works. It's not about your decision creating God's love; it's about God's love creating the possibility for your decision. It's not about your worthiness qualifying you for His acceptance; it's about His acceptance making you worthy.

If you've never accepted Christ, know this: He's already extending the invitation to you right now. His love is already reaching toward your heart. The relationship is already available.

The question isn't whether He wants you—He absolutely does. The question is: Will you receive what He's already offering?

Born without legs, a left arm, and with only a partial right arm, Clay Dyer has spent his life overcoming obstacles that might seem insurmountable to others. However, from an early age, his parents taught him to focus on what he could do, rather than what he couldn’t. This mindset of resilience, determination, and faith has made Clay one of the most respected figures in both the fishing world and the realm of motivational speaking.

Isaiah 10 Woe to those who make unjust laws,
to those who issue oppressive decrees,
2 to deprive the poor of their rights
and withhold justice from the oppressed of my people,
making widows their prey
and robbing the fatherless.
3 What will you do on the day of reckoning,
when disaster comes from afar?
To whom will you run for help?
Where will you leave your riches?
4 Nothing will remain but to cringe among the captives
or fall among the slain.

SPIRITUAL IDENTITY

18 September 2024
Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God (Galatians 4:7)

As you consider the importance of your spiritual identity and the spiritual identity of your children, meditate on these passages:

The spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God (Romans 8:16)

For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ (Galatians 3:26,27)

And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, "Abba! Father!" Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God (Galatians 4:6,7)

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvellous light; for you once were not a people, but now you are the people of God; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy (1 Peter 2:9,10)

See how great a love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called children of God; and such we are Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not appeared as yet what we shall be. We know that, when He appears, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him just as He is. And anyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure (1 John 3:1-3)

Mom and Dad, do you want your sons and daughters to purify themselves? Then find out who you are as a child of God, and help your children establish the same eternal relationship by discovering their identity in Him.

Lord, continue to show me who I am in Christ that I may encourage my children in their relationship with You.

When we come to the end of our resources, we discover God's resources. God will let us do our thing and patiently wait until self-interest and self-rule leave us spiritually and emotionally bankrupt. We can turn to God any time we weary of trying to run our own lives independently of Him. He doesn't force Himself on us; He just simply says, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him follow Me." Are you willing to forsake self-rule and follow Him?
