The Upsilon Mu Chapter at Towson University was honored to host an inspiring Lunch & Learn featuring our Divine Nine brother 💛🖤, Maryland Governor Wes Moore.

It was a unique opportunity to engage with the state’s highest elected official as Governor Moore shared valuable insights on the evolving landscape of campus life and the future of higher education. Together, we explored ways to strengthen student communities, expand access to educational opportunities, and empower the next generation of leaders to drive meaningful change.

Thank you, Governor Moore, for your time, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to the community and the advancement of our undergraduates.

Happy Birthday to Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated’s 24th International President, Dr. Mary Breaux Wright!

We celebrate the life, legacy, and leadership of Dr. Wright, who faithfully served as International President from 2012 to 2018, following two consecutive terms as National First Vice-President. A visionary and trailblazer, Dr. Wright made an indelible mark on our sisterhood and the communities we serve.

Her many accomplishments include serving as chief researcher and transcriber for Torchbearers of a Legacy, Zeta’s first published history book and launching the National Elder Care and Elder Abuse Initiative, the signature program of her administration. She oversaw the modernization of the sorority’s website with online registration and financial capabilities and implemented the impactful Seven-Point Plan focused on community service, health, education, and chapter development.

She also led Zeta to become the only Greek-lettered organization to partner with the National Science Foundation through the Human Genome Project, and in 1998, she was responsible for the sorority being awarded Non-Governmental, or NGO, Status by becoming a member of the United Nations.

Today, we honor your leadership, your legacy, and your unwavering commitment to excellence. We love you, and we hope you’re enjoying a beautiful and well-deserved celebration!

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated honors Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, as an historic moment in American history. On June 19, 1865, news of the Emancipation Proclamation finally reached the last enslaved individuals in Galveston, Texas, marking the true beginning of freedom for all.

We proudly recognize the efforts of our own trailblazing Soror, Opal Lee, the “Grandmother of Juneteenth,” whose unwavering advocacy helped make Juneteenth a federally recognized holiday in 2021.

Today, we celebrate emancipation, reflect on our ancestors’ strength and resilience, and recommit to the work of advancing justice, equity, and unity. Through education, action, and solidarity, we move closer to a world rooted in true freedom for all.

On Saturday, May 16, Maryland Zetas and our youth affiliates came together in support of NAMI Prince George’s County, alongside Soror Stephanie Slowly, Executive Director of NAMI Maryland, and Soror Serina Eckwood, President of the NAMI Prince George’s County Board of Directors, as we volunteered and walked to champion mental health advocacy, awareness, and support within our communities.

Together, we helped normalize conversations surrounding mental health, break the stigma, and remind individuals and families that they are not alone — support, resources, and hope are available.

💙🤍 Membership Monday: Maryland Zetas on the Move 💙🤍

One thing about Maryland Zetas… we know how to welcome our Sorors with sisterly love and finer hospitality!

Recently, Soror Sydney Kamlager-Dove was warmly welcomed to our state as the keynote speaker for the 51st NAACP Montgomery County, Maryland Freedom Fund Gala, where Sorors of Alpha Zeta Chapter - Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated Eta Pi Zeta Chapter showed up in true Zeta fashion to extend love and fellowship.

Later in the week, the incomparable Soror Stephanie Mills blessed Baltimore with her beautiful voice during the 2026 Artscape Festival, and Sorors of Alpha Zeta Chapter were onsite to greet her with the warmth and sisterhood that make our bond so special.

From service to sisterhood, Maryland Zetas continue to exemplify what it means to show up, show love, and make every Soror feel at home. 💙
