This 1955 Ford 640 was bought new by Lloyd Andrews from Harlow Tractor Sales in Bethel, Ohio. This tractor has done almost every job on the farm in its life.
As the farming operation got larger so did the equipment, but the Ford stayed around to plow and disk the family garden as well as the neighbors.
The tractor was restored for its 50th birthday in 2005.
It continues to be used in the garden and at local plow days.
This tractor has been operated by five generations of Andrews making it a true family heirloom.

Tractor storys. West familys John Deere L. Story told by Chris West.

1938 John Deere L . A friend of Dean Everetts offered Dean this tractor in the late 1990’s and since it was John Deere and with Dean being an Allis Chalmers guy Dean offered it to me. My Dad, Dean and I went and looked at it and for $ 500 felt like I could not pass it up. It had been used for planting to***co and to slow the tractor down they had removed the drive shaft and installed a second transmission from something else. So, this tractor had 2 gear shifts and 2 transmissions when we bought it. I purchased the correct drive shaft and cover and removed the extra transmission. A gentleman in our local club, Jerry Behm liked restoring tractors and offered to restore it for just the cost of parts and materials. The tractor was taken to Jerry, and he did an outstanding job on the tractor. We still take this tractor to shows and I have a plow for it I just do not have the mounting parts for the plow. Hope to find them someday.

Tractor storys : Huff Farms Farmall 400

Here we have 1954 Farmall 400. This tractor came from an old hardware store in Bellbrook that also sold IH equipment. Dan Huff bought it brand new in 1955 for $2,500 the year he graduated. It was the very first thing he ever purchased. It came with a plow which was 3-16in and a wagon, and like most first buys, it meant a whole lot more than just iron. It was the start of everything. This tractor help start a three generation farm now ran by Dan’s grandson Branson Huff. This tractor is used now around the farm for odd jobs and taken to shows by Dans grandson’s.

Hey everyone we are going to start a series before the stories are lost. We will tell storys / history of the tractor.

First up is 1945 John Deere A. This Tractor was purchased by Lou West in 1986 from a person Chris West worked with at Mac Tools in Washington Court House for $ 250. The tractor was in Lees Creek Ohio. Brought tractor home and it was only set up to operate on the small tank. Chris worked on the tractor and was able to get it set up to run on both tanks and took it out for a test. While driving through the field as Chris crossed a creek, Gas came out from the gas tank and was set on fire by the Mag. Chris then turned the key off and jumped off the tractor and ran into the house and called fire dept. who came out and put the fire out. Chris waited for awhile to let it cool down. Chris drained the large tank and switched it back to the small tank. Chris decided to see if it would start and it did and I drove it to the barn. Chris took the hood off and found a wasp or some kind of nest that had caused the top of the tank to rust leaving a big hole. Chris found a new gas tank and put it in and solved the problem. They finished doing the needed repairs and the replacement of parts and took the tractor to a good friend Dean Everetts where we helped and he painted the tractor for us. We put the decals on, and we have been showing and using this tractor since then. They take the tractor to local shows, Christmas parades and to various plow days.
