What is it?

It’s a new way to connect with people who share your age and interests through easy group chats.

Our goal is simple: to help you socialize, make real friends, and hang out.

We built this because we know firsthand how tough it can be to find your crowd or break the ice in a new town. To make sure everyone feels safe and comfortable, the platform will feature comprehensive profiles and a secure verification process.

Hey neighbors! We have some exciting news to share with you all.

We know how tough it can be to meet new people or just to find a group to hang out with around town. Well, The Owensboro App is launching something called ‘Owensboro Friends’ very soon, and it’s going to be a total game changer for our community.

Think of it as a digital neighborhood hangout. Instead of making posts on facebook looking for people to hangout with or trying to make small talk with strangers halfway across the country, you’ll have a digital hub that’s just for Owensboro residents. Here is a quick look at what’s coming:

People in your stage of life: You can jump into group chats based on your age, so you're actually talking to people who get where you're at.

Stuff you actually like to do: There will be specific groups for local foodies, hikers, gamers, parents, and tons more. If you're looking for someone to grab BBQ with or hit the trails at Yellow Creek Park, you'll find them here.

Strictly local: This is exclusive to Owensboro residents. No spam, no bots, just your actual neighbors.

AI Data Center: Mayor Tom Watson and city officials are in early talks with OMU and federal reps to transform Owensboro into a digital infrastructure hub.

BBQ & Barrels Arrest: Drama at the festival as Carsen Richards (bassist for Chase Matthew) was arrested on felony warrants immediately following their set. He is currently held at the Daviess County Detention Center.

OHS Bomb Threat: Investigations continue after a threat at Owensboro High School disrupted KSA testing. Police are currently tracking the source of the call.
