This is a real event happening at the Boston Public Library with the Office of LGBTQ+ Advancement โ the same office the Boston City Council recently voted to make a permanent line item in the city budget.

The Office of LGBTQ+ Advancement that funded the program was just made permanent by the Boston City Council. ๐๐ญ๐ฌ ๐จ๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ ๐๐ญ ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐๐ฌ ๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ ๐จ๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐ฌ๐๐ฆ๐ ๐ ๐๐ง๐๐ซ๐๐ฅ ๐๐ฎ๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐๐ญ ๐๐ฎ๐ง๐๐ฌ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐ฉ๐จ๐ฅ๐ข๐๐, ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐ฌ๐๐ก๐จ๐จ๐ฅ๐ฌ, ๐๐ง๐ ๐ฌ๐ง๐จ๐ฐ ๐ซ๐๐ฆ๐จ๐ฏ๐๐ฅ. Mayor Wu announced earlier this year an additional $200K specifically to โ๐ด๐ต๐ณ๐ฆ๐ฏ๐จ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ฏ ๐ด๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฑ๐ฐ๐ณ๐ต ๐ด๐ฆ๐ณ๐ท๐ช๐ค๐ฆ๐ด ๐ง๐ฐ๐ณ ๐๐๐๐๐+ ๐๐ฐ๐ด๐ต๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ช๐ข๐ฏ๐ด,โ on top of the standing office budget. Total annual cost to Boston taxpayers, per public records, runs into seven figures.
The intersection point with the Menstrual Equity Initiative โ Bostonโs 2023-launched citywide program providing free menstrual products in public buildings โ is where the language collapses entirely. ๐๐ก๐ ๐๐๐ง๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ฎ๐๐ฅ ๐๐ช๐ฎ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ ๐ข๐ฌ ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐ฐ๐จ๐ฆ๐๐ง. ๐๐ก๐ ๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐ฌ ๐๐๐ซ๐ข๐จ๐ ๐๐ซ๐ข๐๐ ๐๐ฏ๐๐ง๐ญ ๐ข๐ฌ ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐ง๐จ๐ง-๐ฐ๐จ๐ฆ๐๐ง ๐ฐ๐ก๐จ ๐ก๐๐ฏ๐ ๐๐๐๐ข๐๐๐ ๐ญ๐จ ๐๐ฅ๐๐ข๐ฆ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐ฑ๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐ข๐๐ง๐๐.
