50 Years ago. June 1976. James Barager (known to everyone as "J-R", publisher of the Owen Enterprise, longtime public servant and promoter of all things Owen - Withee. WW2 military veteran. He was 60 years old when he died.

The Curtiss Corners (Clark County, Wisconsin) held a quilt show today, June 20, 2026 in Withee, Wisconsin (2026 annual "Withee Days"). The quilt show showcased the Curtiss Quilt Club's 2026 community service project to produce 100 hand sewed quilts of all sizes, shapes and patterns. The quilts will be donated to the Wisconsin Honor Flight project, who will in turn gift the quilts to each US Military Veteran on a future Honor Flight. Honor Flights are a charitable event where by military veterans, and a guest, are flown to Washington DC to visit the various memorial sites, such as the Washington Monument, the Vietnam Honor Wall, Arlington Cemetery, and more. Lingering Shadow. A true story Mystery Memoir by Withee (Wisconsin) native Sandy Lindberg. The story of the disappearance of her father from Withee in 1962. He never returned to Withee. This book is the true story of what happened. Sandy now lives in Florida and is in Withee for 2026 Withee Days. At the Withee Library and other events around Withee during 2026 Withee Days weekend. Special event price of the book this weekend only is $16 and signed by Sandy.
