Owego Emergency Squad

Our heartfelt thanks going out to our OEMS Volunteer Tyler, and career staffers Josh and Hunter, for their part in the search for the missing 8 year old Nichols girl early this week.

These men worked 30 hours straight searching and in support of the search effort by hundreds of people.

The girl was found, and we are so thankful for all the prayers we felt during a very difficult period.

Our staff and volunteers are the BEST!

Thank You Owego Fire Department Volunteers!

Gigantic Shout out to our very own Owego Fire Department.

Did you know 16 of our precious and selfless OFD volunteers spent 30 hours, all through the night last week searching in the dark and cold for the missing 8 year old nichols girl?

These men and women gave up valuable work and family time to do what they know is the right thing to do in this situation. These people are moms and dad's, grandmas and grandpa's too. And we want to honor their dedication this week.

We are all ecstatic that she was found safe, as I think many of us feared the worst.

Hats off to the Owego Fire Department! We appreciate You!

Fall is here in Tioga County—and so is deer season!

With shorter daylight hours and peak deer activity at dusk and dawn, our roads through Owego and the surrounding hills get extra unpredictable.

Quick safety reminders before you hit the road:

Scan the shoulders: Deer rarely travel alone. If you see one, expect two or three more behind it.

Brake, don't swerve: Swerving into oncoming traffic or off the road often causes far worse collisions than hitting the deer.

Slow down at twilight: 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM is peak movement time.

🚑 We’re always here when you need us, but we’d rather you arrive safely! Stay alert out there, Owego.
