New parking issues for 2025
Entering our 6th year of doing the show, we want to reiterate our thanks to everyone that shows up. Its crazy to think in 5 years there has been absolutely no damage (including the neighbors grass). We appreciate everyone being respectful, cleaning up their snacks/wrappers and generally being polite when leaving the property.
For this year, our grumpy neighbor has moved forward with constructing a wire fence. This fence is as close as you could put it to the road and be able to hit dirt. The fence is constructed of green T-Post spread ~10-15 ft apart with two strands of wire between. If you ATTEMPT to pull off on this side of the road, you WILL damage your vehicle. Also be on the look out, if you think you reached the end of T-Posts be extra cautious. At one end, there is rebar in the ground that is ~18inch tall and would do quite a bit of work on your vehicle.
Due to this it makes parking to see the show much harder. We see a lot of people not block our driveway. STOP BEING NICE! :) We absolutely wont ever use the driveway during a show, so dont feel a need to keep it open. If you are arriving with a group and are planning to be out of your vehicle anyways, feel free to pull into the end of the driveway. That gives 2 more spots and will not block anyone's view. Just please don't pull all the way in as that would block the Garage and MegaTree elements.
Since the amount of parking is shrinking, we need to think about creative ways to keep the show going. We tried to stick to FM transmitters as that is fairly quiet. We will be considering an external audio solution so people can park anywhere, walk over, and be able to hear the show (this will also help if your car utilizes audio processing, as that messes with the timing of effects).
We will not let someone ruin a free community event. We will persist. Our main goal is that for everyone coming to the show, everyone can enjoy a 100% safe experience and that our show causes no unreasonable issues with the neighborhood we live in.
