We’re proud to celebrate a special milestone for the Texhoma WINUP chapter—awarding our very first STEM Scholarships! Congratulations Ella!

This year’s recipient is an exceptional Owasso High School senior who plans to attend Northwestern University, pursuing studies that blend percussion performance with neuroscience. Her passion lies in exploring the connection between music and the brain, with future goals that include medical school or neurological research.

We’re also grateful for the incredible foundation provided by Owasso Public Schools. Their dedication to academic excellence, student growth, and opportunity continues to shape students who are ready to make a meaningful impact in the world.

Congratulations!

Our chapter is so excited to announce our first STEM scholarship recipients! We only planned for one, however, these two outstanding ladies blew our minds away!

Please help us in congratulating these women and good luck on their next steps!

Avery is a senior at Oologah High School and plans to continue her education to become a zoologist and agriculture education instructor. She hopes to work with animals, conduct research, and inspire future generations through teaching about animal care and science.

Avery shared, “Continuing my studies in STEM will allow me to make a meaningful impact in both the scientific community and the education of young people.”

Ella Burns is a senior at Owasso High School and will be attending Northwestern University to study percussion performance and neuroscience. She hopes to attend medical school or do research in neurology, focusing on how music impacts the brain.

Ella shared, "I have always had a desire to help others, which has been fulfilled through leadership. As I continue my education, I hope to build relationships with my fellow students and step into new leadership roles."
