Ending the day feeling incredibly grateful.

This morning we were blessed with a $100 donation that was perfectly timed, as we should be approaching our final inspection. I had reached out earlier in the week trying to confirm whether Sunday was the deadline, but haven't heard back yet. Regardless, thanks to this amazing village, we are ready. ❤️🐾

We still have a few needs ahead of us. We currently have $65 toward the $500 needed for John, our honey bee extraction expert, who has been helping us safely relocate our unexpected upstairs residents. 🐝

We would also be incredibly grateful for any help toward our balance at Catoosa Small Animal Hospital. It's been several weeks since we've had any payments toward Ash's tail docking/neuter and Jaxson's swollen lymph nodes and loss of appetite. The good news is both boys are doing beautifully. Ash has settled in so well that he rarely even needs his trazodone these days unless we have lots of visitors. Watching him relax into the daily flow of haven life has been pretty special.

We are also hoping to bring in some pea gravel soon. Unfortunately, Ash disagrees with this plan entirely. He remains a strong supporter of mud and whatever magical force creates the tiny pond that appears after every rain. Something about water completely captivates that little heeler brain. I've already told him we'll see about getting a small kiddie pool and maybe some fruit to bob for. I have a feeling he'd consider that a fair compromise. 😂❤️

Sunset potty break for the Obsidian Krew. ❤️🐾

To the untrained eye, not much is happening. Just a handful of pups wandering around the yard. But watch a little longer and you'll see the dynamics that make me smile.

Abel takes his self-appointed role as big brother very seriously. Halo, on the other hand, takes her self-appointed role as annoying little sister just as seriously. 😂 Wherever Abel goes, Halo isn't far behind. If he's walking the fence line, she's there. If he's checking on the yard, she's there. If he's trying to enjoy five seconds of peace, she's definitely there.

The funny part is Abel pretends to be bothered, but he always keeps an eye on his little crew.

Tonight's sunset supervisor: Abel.
Tonight's chief pest: Halo.

And honestly, I think they're both pretty happy with those jobs. ❤️🐾

Feeling incredibly grateful today.

Because of this village, our utilities are paid and we have $65 toward our honey bee expert, John. One less weight on the shoulders and one more step forward. ❤️🐝

The new washer is up and running, and after manually hauling and pouring water into the old one, I am beyond thankful. The gentleman assured us it would be perfect for a dog rescue. 😅 After a few loads, I think we're both learning that dog rescue laundry may be its own category - pretty sure he brought the smallest sized washer - on #4 of the day at 11am so calling it a huge win in a small package. Still, hearing it run beats hauling water and lifting hundreds of pounds throughout the day just to keep blankets and towels moving.

Most of the crew loved the cooler, overcast weather. The moment the sun peeked out and the humidity rolled back in, I think every dog collectively filed a complaint. 😂🐾

Donations are still greatly appreciated as we work toward John's $500 bee removal fee and continue chipping away at our balance with Catoosa Small Animal Hospital.
