Parent-Teacher Conferences are tomorrow and Friday!

These conferences are an important opportunity to connect and partner in support of each child. Teachers will share about students’ growth in habits of heart and mind, as well as their academic progress, while parents have the opportunity to ask questions, share concerns, and offer feedback.

We ask all parents to make every effort to participate in these conferences. We look forward to connecting with you!

We were grateful to welcome our dads and moms for morning prayer and coffee, beginning the day in prayer alongside our students before gathering for fellowship, conversation, coffee, and breakfast.

Thank you to all who joined us and helped make these mornings such a wonderful time of community. We are grateful for our parents and the opportunity to begin our days together in prayer.

Learning to read starts with a strong foundation.

In K-2, our students receive explicit direct phonics instruction, rooted in the Orton-Gillingham approach.

Following a clear, logical scope and sequence, our lessons move carefully from single to more complex skills, giving students the opportunity to practice and master each concept before moving forward.

By using multi-sensory techniques, we activate all sensory pathways to make an imprint on the brain and build memory. These strong foundations equip our students to become confident, fluent readers who are ready to engage deeply with the world of books.

Our very own Mrs. Jan Tjomsland was selected by the Herzog Foundation as a Christian Math Teacher of the Year for 2026! Hundreds of teachers were nominated nationwide, and twelve were selected for this recognition. Mrs. Tjomsland attended a conference in June for recipients, and was honored at an evening gala event in Kansas City, MO this past weekend. We announced the news of this honor at a special whole school assembly at the end of the last school year. It was wonderful to see the response from both students and faculty. Anyone who knows Mrs. Tjomsland as a teacher or a colleague was delighted to see honor given where honor is clearly due!

Our kindergarten students recently spent time exploring the churches that are home to their campuses. At St. Albans, the students learned about sacred architecture, traditions, and liturgies within their home church. At Northland, students explored the churches history, beliefs, and outreach to the community and the world.

Each tour offered a unique opportunity for our students to look, listen, ask questions, and learn more about the churches that surround their school experience each day.

A special morning of learning, exploring, and growing together!

We are so grateful to Sprouts for blessing the Ecclesial Schools Initiative with a generous grant to help us continue growing our campus gardens. This support allows our students to experience the joy and wonder of cultivating God’s creation while learning valuable lessons about stewardship, science, responsibility, and the beauty of the natural world.

We are excited to watch our gardens—and our students—continue to grow!

We take this to heart. From recess to GE to time spent working in the garden, our students have regular opportunities to move, explore, play, and experience the natural world.

Time outdoors isn’t an interruption to the school day — it is an important part of it.

Ordinary school days at our Northland campus are full of students reading, creating, discussing, exploring, singing, listening, and learning alongside one another.

Students are also learning to pay attention, ask thoughtful questions, work faithfully, care for others, and delight in what is good and beautiful. We have the privilege of watching these things take shape, one day at a time.
