Friends of the Three Bears

The Greek Revival Structures are unique in the US and are on the Federal Registry.

The Friends of the Three Bears started in 2002 as a nonprofit corporation to help with the restoration of the three historic buildings known as the Court House Complex.

Please Join us next Thursday, the 25th for a concert by local country band, The Flower Pots, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in the Three Bears Park. In the event of rain, the concert will be moved to the courtroom. Please feel free to bring blankets or chairs, and food and drink. We hope to see you there!

Thank you again to everyone who attended our historic marker dedication ceremony on May 31st. Without support from community members like you, the Three Bears wouldn't have been able to accomplish what it has. Thank you to Hosmer Winery, Boundary Breaks, and Thirsty Owl Wine Company for the wine tastings. Thank you to The Cayuga Lake Creamery and ITH Hospitality for providing the ice cream and food. Finally, thank you to the William G. Pomeroy Foundation for providing the funding for these markers.

Join us in two weeks for the first class of local artist Andi Pisacano's fairytale watercolor painting class. This class is open to the public and free to attend. Ages 8 and up. Space is limited so please email [email protected] to register or if you have any questions.

Our annual Summer Concert Series will start in 3 weeks. All of the concerts are open to the public and free to attend. Join us on Thursdays from 6 to 7:30pm from June 25th to August 20th. In the event of rain, concerts will be moved up to the historic Papa Bear courtroom. Please email [email protected] with any questions. We hope to see you there!

We are only a few days away from our much anticipated Historic Marker Dedication Ceremony. Join us on the lawn of the Three Bears, rain or shine, this Sunday, May 31 from 1:00-4:00 pm to celebrate the installation of a New York State Historic Marker sponsored by the William G. Pomeroy Foundation. Tents will be put up if there is rain. We will have some folding chairs available, but please feel free to bring a lawn chair or blanket if that would be more comfortable for you. There is limited parking available in the rear of the building (enter off of County Road 139). Please reserve for individuals who need to use the elevator, or who need to be close to the buildings. Additional parking is available along CR 139, or along Main Street. After the ceremony, enjoy live music, refreshments, ice cream from Cayuga Lake Creamery, wine tastings from Hosmer Winery , Thirsty Owl Wine Company , and Boundary Breaks Winery, and the buildings will be open for tours.

Our merchandise committee has been hard at work this year creating many new pieces of merchandise. The Three Bears now have new mugs, magnets, hats, keychains, hoodies, and t-shirts available. These items will be on display in Mama Bear and will be available at the dedication ceremony. Join us on Sunday, May 31 from 1:00-4:00 pm to celebrate the installation of a New York State Historic Marker sponsored by the Pomeroy Foundation. View our new merchandise, enjoy live music, refreshments, ice cream from Cayuga Creamery, and wine tastings from Hosmer, Thirsty Owl, and Boundary Breaks Wineries.

The event will take place rain or shine on the lawn of the Three Bears, 7175 Main Street, Ovid, and the merchandise will be available in Mama Bear during our open hours for the rest of the season. Mama Bear is open Thursday through Sunday, 12-2pm until October 4th.

As of today, Mama Bear will be open Thursday through Sunday 12-2pm until October 11th. Please stop by if you have any questions about the Bears, or Ovid in general. Additionally, we are only two weeks away from our Dedication Ceremony on May 31st from 1pm to 4pm. If you are interested in free ice cream from the Cayuga Creamery, wine tastings from local wineries, and catered Hors d'oeuvres, please join us. Email [email protected] with any questions.
