Teamsters 618 Celebrates Victory at WeDriveU in St. Louis!
Teamsters Local 618 is proud to announce a major victory for workers at WeDriveU in St. Louis, who voted overwhelmingly yesterday to join the Teamsters family and secure union representation.
This successful organizing effort was powered by the determination and solidarity of the WeDriveU workers themselves, alongside strong support from Teamster locals throughout Joint Council 13, and the IBT Organizing Dept. Members and representatives from local unions within Joint Council 13 stood shoulder to shoulder with the workers throughout the campaign, encouraging employees to make their voices heard and vote YES for a stronger future.
“This victory shows what workers can accomplish when they stand together,” said Recording Secretary and Organizer Alex Staples of Teamsters Local 618. “The WeDriveU employees sent a clear message that they want respect on the job, a stronger voice in the workplace, and the protections that come with a Teamster contract.”
Workers at WeDriveU organized around issues including fair wages, better benefits, improved working conditions, and having a meaningful voice in decisions affecting their jobs and livelihoods.
The Teamsters Local 618 leadership are committed to helping the newly organized members negotiate a strong first contract that reflects the value and professionalism of the WeDriveU workforce.
The Executive Board and Staff of Local 618 congratulates the workers of WeDriveU and thanks every Teamster local, member, organizer, the IBT Organizing Dept, and supporter who helped make this victory possible. Their solidarity and commitment demonstrate the strength of the Teamsters movement across Missouri and beyond.
Together, we are building worker power.
