Summary: Information is a weapon and our ever-connected, online environment is a battlefield. Identifying disinformation is critical in countering false narratives that seek to undermine essential organizations' operations as well as engender public distrust of societal institutions. This presentation provides an overview of what information operations are and how they work as well as discusses real-world examples orchestrated by an adversarial nation-state while also covering scenarios that may impact a variety of industry verticals.

A former Disney employee has been arrested and charged with hacking into the company's systems and sabotaging restaurant menus. Michael Scheuer, a former menu production manager, allegedly used his work credentials to access the Disney menu creation system and tamper with fonts and allergen information. This malicious act led to system outages and potential safety risks for customers. Scheuer also faces charges related to a series of DDoS attacks targeting Disney employees.

In a vengeful move against the happiest place on Earth, the former employee allegedly used his old credentials to make potentially deadly changes.
